Technology in today's classroom....

Technology is extremely crucial in our classrooms today. It is such a strong component in which all students to be interested and understand what they are learning. These tools provide great opportunities to our students and help them develop a great amount of information and skills. As an educator I strive to receive and use technologies within my classroom everyday. Times have changed when dealing with technology, and it is time that it changes within the classroom to.  I am a strong believer in that teachers should use any and all technologies in which are provided to them within the classroom. The major technologies in which are normally provided in todays classroom and that I would use are as follows: Projectors, Smart technologies, and Classroom PC’s. A projector is a way of providing information instead of a piece of paper. Individuals can receive information from power points, documents, videos, and teacher’s notes. Smart technologies can allow teachers to project something onto this board and allow the teacher to digitally draw. Templates can be used, lesson plans, and even video chats to share information.  When dealing with PC’s it is ideal for every student to be able to have his or her own as it takes learning to a whole other level. Students are able to create documents, gather research, store personal work, and learn throughout numerous ways. These listed technologies plus many more allow students to learn in a unique way. Technology adapts to students way of learning and takes receiving information to a whole other level.

Along with preparing lessons and touching upon technology, teachers are required to plan ahead of time. Just as preparing a lesson it takes time and structure. Technology is not always easy to work with and operating correctly. Therefore, teachers need to test the technology being used numerous of times before using it. By doing this they are making sure it works, easy to navigate, and understandable for they designated age group. The extra time it takes makes a world of the difference to students, as it’s enjoyable. I plan to use the above technologies in my future classroom to meet the needs of creativity and innovation. The technology provided will allow students to demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and process in an educated and enjoyable way.
